Distribution Evaluation – Knoppix 9.1 – One of the best live Linux CDs is still at the top of their game with this latest distribution. Knoppix was one of the first live CDs and one of the first Debian derivatives. It is meant to be a live CD and does not come with the option to install it. It supports most hardware configurations so it is a great rescue CD.
Loaded with useful programs
Knoppix 9.1 comes loaded with quite a few programs. Just looking at the accessories tab will tell you a lot about the depth and variety of software that is available.
Knoppix comes with two browsers already installed – Chrome and Firefox. The TOR Browser is downloadable through the launcher. There is also a bit torrent client (Transmission) to share files.

Conclusions
Knoppix 9.1 also has some of my favorites included in it: GIMP and Libre Office and VIM (just to mention a few). A lesser known version of Knoppix exists for the sight-impaired called ADRIANE Knoppix. Putting Knoppix on a USB Stick is a great idea – you can customize it to however you wish. It also comes in handy when you want to troubleshoot some hardware because Knoppix supports a lot of different types.
All in all – this is a great distribution and I highly recommend you put it into your toolbox.
